Atticus: "I'm going to cut you up like an apple and eat you up."

Atticus is interested lately in gradations, so we hear things like this:

• "I'm a little happy, but not too much."
• "Are you going a little faster now? Just a little fast?"
• "I'm not big. I'm a little big."

And he's become such a talker. A mundane question like "How was your lunch today?" returns an entire paragraph about what he liked and what he didn't like, how excited he is about what he did like, what other kids ate, etc. He talks my head off much of the drive home most days.

Atticus does a little sledding and makes his first snow angel.
